Services Provided by Save The Mothers
Save the Mothers operates an inter-disciplinary Masters in Public Health Leadership program on the campus of Uganda Christian University. The program has a full time Ugandan academic director,to coordinate teaching and about 17 part time faculty mostly Ugandan from the Ugandan Ministry of Health,theWorld Health Organization and other key organizations. The Mother Friendly Hospital Initiative has been developed by Save the Mothers as an innovativeand low-cost intervention at the hospital/health care facility level and that hospitals have the essential services to save the lives of mothers and their babies. Their programs are overseen by a full time Executive Director-a Canadian obstetrician.
