Shining Horizons Therapeutic Riding Association is dedicated to providing horseback riding to all disabled individuals. Our objective is to encourage and provide riding to the disabled as a source of enjoyment, therapeutic exercise and recreational sport. We provide 2 sessions per year, in the Spring and Fall ranging from 8 to 10 weeks each year. During these 2 sessions trained volunteers conduct therapeutic riding lessons for persons with disabilities, 3 to 4 times per week. Each lesson is approximately 30 minutes with 3 to 4 lessons per day. Furthermore the organization continually provides training for volunteers and promotes the benefits of therapeutic riding in the great Saint John community.
