The purpose of the Trust is to hold the Trust Property in Trust, to invest and keep invested the Trust Property until funds are required for disbursement to the Beneficiaries for the purpose of securing and protecting high-conservation-priority lands in Nova Scotia in accordance with IUCN standards for Category I, II, or III protected areas. The Beneficiaries are the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), the Nova Scotia Nature Trust (NSNT) and any other charitable, non-governmental, nature conservation land trusts that are designed as eligible bodies pursuant to the Conservation Easement Act, SNS, 2001, c.28. The Trust funds have been invested in long and short-term promissory notes.
