Chess Institute of Canada is a charitable organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children by using chess as a vehicle to cultivate the development of essential life skills. Its ongoing programs include: i) In-school extra-curricular chess clubs; ii) chess curriculum classes to supplement the curriculum requirements set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education; iii) one-day tournaments specifically designed to engage elementary school children; iv) Weeklong day and overnight camps throughout the year; v) competitive all-ages tournaments; and vi) lectures and other presentations by world renowned chess players.
