We are Canada s only not-for-profit organization focused on mitochondrial disease. Our mission is to transform the outlook for persons facing a diagnosis of mitochondrial disease and/or dysfunction. We do this by (1) raising awareness; (2) providing information/education to persons affected by mitochondrial disorder,their families, healthcare professionals, educators, and the public; and (3) funding peer-reviewed research grants and a PhD/MD scholarship prize. Our strength is identify and collaborating with other like-minded organizations to expand system-wide knowledge and investments so that together we can accelerate getting to a cure. We envision a future where Canadians of all ages, who are directly and indirectly impacted by this disease, feel inspired, empowered and supported to live their best lives.
