The Society collects and distributes food to those in need and runs a number of programs to support its mission as follows: - The Society provides supplementary food to over 26,500 members on a weekly basis through 14 depots located throughout Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and North Vancouver - The society supplies food to more than 92 meal-providing agencies that, which in turn, create 16,000 meals each week - Community Angles Food Runners - this prepared and perishable food recovery program provides over 74,000 meals each month and annually savings over 730,000pounds of food that would be wasted (Food waste recovery program). - Fresh Choice Kitchens creates and provide cooking skills building training programs, networking sessions and cooking resources. - Downtown Eastside Community Kitchen Project focuses on residents of single-room occupancy hotels who generally do not have access to any cooking facilities or the skills to cook and cannot provide a meal for themselves - Baby Programs - to assist families coping with the challenges of raising a young infant by providing them with needed food, formula and diapers - Kids Picks - to provide preschoolers aged 24 months to five years with a supplemental bag of nutritious food that helps to provide the essential vitamins, minerals and food texture needed for proper growth and development.
