Our goal is to educate our community about Canada's reach and diverse literary heritage while also providing a platform for local writers to share their work. In furtherance of this goal, we again mounted a literary festival that included sixteen reading events, seven writing workshops and a literary salon. Four reading events were geared towards children. One afternoon of programming focused exclusively on Hamilton authors and five local participated in the festival. We also continued our popular partner event with the Hamilton Public Library - a panel discussion introducing titles on the Ontario Library Association's Evergreen Reading List. Our writing contest ran again in 2015, and four of its winners read at the 2015 festival. We launched a gritLIT Meet-Up group to give local authors and readers a place to meet and share ideals, feedback and information about the literary arts in Canada. In 2015, four Meet-up events were held. In an effort to expand our reach into the community and to support another local arts organization, we held a partner event with Steel City Stories.
