Bright Starts Co-operative Early Learning Centre Inc. opened January of 2014, providing high quality early learning and child care to the University of Waterloo faculty, staff, students and the surrounding Region. Bright Starts CELC has a licensed capacity to care for 160 children aged 3 months - 5 years, with an additional 26 spaces for Junior/Senior Kindergarten children during school breaks and P.D. Days. Our programs are fully licensed and inspected by the Ministry of Education, Child Care Quality Assurance & Licensing Early Learning Division. We strive to promote a positive, safe, loving, nurturing and home-like atmosphere where the health, safety, nutrition and well-being of our children is of the utmost importance. We encourage mutual respect, patience and creativity in an inclusive environment while viewing children as competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. Using How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014) to guide our programing and pedagogy. We provide a positive framework to support our children and families in an environment that promotes belonging, engagement, expression, and well-being.
