The CKLAS Foundtion believes strongly in the right of each child to a healthy and nurturing environment in which to grow into adulthood. Unffortunately, some children have been denied thse basic needs - wheather due to physical or mental abuse, development challenges or the constraints imposed by the socioeconomic situation of their families. The Foundation has committed its funds to help support these disadvantaged children. The granting guidelines are as follows: * Only to registered charitable organizations * to needs in and around Calagary, Alberta * causes identified on a proactive basis * to grass-roots or community level organizations * to support operating costs of specific prgrams, not capital projects * grants may be one-time or multi-year * emphasis to organizations that address root causes of issues
