Services Provided by The Incorporated Ministry In Flemingdon Park
The Skills Training to Access Resources (STAR) program encourages participants to set goals for themselves, and empowers them by providing the resources that they will need to accomplish them. We provide drop-in services 5 days a week to an average of 1,600 guests per month. We offer hot meals and snacks, a computer lab, copier service and an open library filled with books and magazines. Our students participate in leadership building activities, crafts, outdoor activities. Older students develop leadership skills by mentoring younger ones, helping them with their homework and providing positive role models. Women from all corners of our community gather for crafts, skill-building activities and an opportunity to build a strong and supportive social network. Seniors gather for a healthy dose of exercise, nutritious food and good conversation. Our food access project helps to guide and educate participants in how to move beyond the need for foodbanks.
