Our core girls'empowerment project in Rwanda was ongoing from August 1st 2015 through to November 21st, 2015. This is a three-moth program that educates and empowers high school level girls in Kigali, Rwanda (East Africa). Girls are coached, trained and mentored for 12 weeks, learning about leadership, gender-based violence, gender equality, career building, networking, mentoring and community development. Girls also design and implement their own community improvement projects after being trained for the first six weeks of the 12 week program, under the guidance of young women mentors and the supervision of the project management team.
