The purpose of Sanctum is to provide a ten bed hospice for Saskatoon's most vulnerable persons who are experiencing chronic illness as a result of their HIV positive status and who need specialized assistance in managing symptoms of their disease as well as other psycho-social and practical support. This would be accomplished by providing the following:1) Hospice/palliative: care during the end of life stages.2) Supportive care: post-op period, home IV therapy, wound management, or chronic illness care.3) Respite care: for individuals who are requiring short term care and do not have adequate housing or support to otherwise receive this in the community.
