In 2016-2017 Earthshine plans to expand its programming to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. Special programs will be held - a National Star Party on Saturday July 26 where all RASC centres will hold a star party on the same night;, and the partial solar eclipse of August 21. Expanded programming will include talks at local libraries, schools, presentations to youth groups (Cubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, Brownies) in addition to its regular Riverwood programs. Public lectures on astronomy and space science are planned as well.
