The Writers' Exchange gets inner-city kids excited about reading and writing through free, fun writing projects and individualized support from volunteer mentors. Each year, kids ages 5 to 18 boost their literacy skills and self-esteem in our programs, which run after school, during the summer and in inner-city teachers' classrooms. Most programs end with the kids' work being published in professionally designed and printed publications, and all programs end with lots of high fives.
