Cantala is currently comprised of a women's choir that provides a community opportunity to like-minded women who are dedicated to the art of choral singing, providing an outlet of artistic recreation with others who are committed and passionate about the art. Two major self-funded recital performances are held each choral year (one each in the winter and spring). Community benefit performance(s) free of charge to the public are also provided to other organizations each year such as performing in a church service. The choir performs at a number of competitive festivals (historically in Mississauga and Toronto) and workshops per year which are all open to the public with no revenue gain to the choir. These performances and workshops provide education, entertainment, and pleasure to the general public, friends and family of the choral members as well as community choral appreciators. Guest artists are often featured at recital and community benefit performances.
