Calgary Learns supported non-profit organizations to provide part-time, non-credit educational programs to adult Calgarians with financial and social barriers. To that end, we funded community programs serving barriered learners in the areas of English language, adult basic literacy, foundational life skills and learning that leads to community capacity building (such as parenting, essential skill development and citizenship programs). We continued to enhance and increase funding to programs that serve Indigenous and Regugee learners. Calgary Learns also provided our 42 members (17 individuals and 25 agencies) and the adult learning community with networking opportunities, professional development,resources for program development and evaluation support and evaluation support with funding proposal development.
