Workers Arts and Heritage Centre Inc. is the only national organization dedicated to workers' history and culture providing gallery space for both historical and contemporary exhibits, the performing arts, video and film, and a library and archives. The goal of the Centre is to present labour heritage and culture in an exciting and accessible way. In 1995, WAHC PURCHASED THE Custom House. This magnificent edifice provides the backdrop for the pursuit of the Centre's ideals in a number of ways: through research and development; educational programs; helping union locals and community groups document their histories; and by staging cultural events.
