The Association (LARA) conducts applied agricultural research and extension in northeastern Alberta, resulting in innovative, sustainable, and profitable farming practices for producers in the area. Every year LARA conducts crop, forage, and livestock research, in small plots and on field scale, as well as putting on workshops and tours to provide educational opportunities to farmers. LARA works in the M.D. of Bonnyville, County of St.Paul, and Lac La Biche County, with research sites in all three areas. Information about LARA's trials is available through a newsletter, "Grow with Us", which is distributed to over 2600 farm mailboxes, and the annual report, which is distributed to over 250 members every year.
