The City of Brooks wanted to help families who were struggling directly because of the downturn in our oil-related economy. They made a large donation through "The Community Response Committee", which transferred the money to our SVDP for dispersement to those in need. Clients were first processed and screened by "Family and community support services' and then sent to our volunteers. We made final decisions about amounts dispersed to families, this is a temporary program, but has carried over into 2017.
