In 2016, the Council published "An Age Friendly Walk-ability Report: Safe Streets for Seniors and Other Valuable People" and prepared a summary report on seniors' housing in Ottawa which emphasized supporting aging in place, affordability and new forms of housing. The Health Issues Committee partnered with several community organizations to provide twelve, multi lingual peer learning facilitator sessions. The Francophone Committee organized presentations relating to integration of seniors in retirement homes, physical activity and spirituality. The Income Security Panel presented information on retirement income policies and challenges, including issues relating to lower income Canadians. The Council, serving as the backbone organization, began work on a three year project which addresses seniors' social isolation. The next Phase of Age Friendly Ottawa resulted in the development a public report entitled "How Age-Friendly is Ottawa?"
