IODE provides scholarships, bursaries and awards to students at all educational levels. It supplies educational materials and recreational equipment to schools, camps, and seniors' facilities. It provides books to students and libraries encouraging literacy programs for all ages. It supplies clothing and food to needy schools in Northern Ontario, Labrador and elsewhere in Canada and to local communities where need is apparent. It provides individuals in need of assistance with food, clothing, household goods and personal care items. Members also volunteer their time to assist others in local communities.
