Clean North promotes local environmental sustainability through a variety of activities which in 2015-2016 involved more than 200 individuals contributing over 3,500 volunteer hours.Our main ongoing activities include the following: We collect and grind/chip Christmas trees and make available the wood mulchproduced to the community. We participate in a workplace compost waste collection project in conjunction with a community garden which uses the finished compost. We participate in a number of community gardens where we take the lead on composting. We collect seed and grow tree seedlings which we both plant and make available for community tree planting. We organize community litter cleanups. We demonstrate and promote indoor composting with worms.
