Tikinagan Child and Family Services (Tikinagan)is a Native Children's Aid Society under the Child and Family Services Act of Ontario that provides child protection and child and family services to 30 First Nations in the Western portion of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN), as well as Pickle Lake, Savant Lake and Allanwater. Through agreements with local children's Aid Societies, Tikinagan also provides services in the Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Balmertown and Ear Falls areas. Tikinagan was created by the Chiefs of this area to support and to be sensitive to the unique needs of children and families within their communities in ways that acknowledge the Native culture, traditions and values, the concept of the extended family, and the role of .. and Council.
