Albert Health Services (AHS) is mandated by the Government of Alberta for the delivery and operation of the public health system in Alberta. AHS is also responsible to: - promote and protect the health of the population and work toward the prevention of disease and injury; - assess on an ongoing basis the health needs of the population; determine priorities in the provision of health services and allocate resources accordingly; -ensure reasonable access to quality health services; and -promote the provision of health services in a manner that is responsive to the needs of individuals and communities and supports the integration of services and facilities.
