We conduct monthly meetings where people who have, or will have ostomy surgery, receive ongoing support and practical education. We provide certified trained visitors (approx. 40 to 50 volunteers) to new patients as a start and follow-up to their rehabilitation following surgery. A newsletter filled with educational information, stories and tips for ostomates is produced 8 times annually. We offer sponsorship opportunities for young ostomy patients (ages 9-18) to attend a national ostomy youth camp. We are gathering a collection of stories, pictures and videos to create brochures and DVDs to increase awareness and support for all ostomates, their families, and friends.
