Services Provided by Sickkids Centre For Community Mental Health
Children's mental health prevention/early intervention services, treatment, training, and research, including: 1. Prevention-To prevent mental health problems from occurring, through parent education and community outreach. 2. Early Intervention-To help infants and children, and their families, who are experiencing early signs of mental health difficulties, through community-based programs. 3. Outpatient Treatment-To help infants/children/youth, and their families, who are experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties, through outpatient family, individual, and /or group treatment. 4. Day Treatment-To help children and youth with serious social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties that affect primarily their ability to function in school. 5. Residential Treatment-To help children and youth with serious social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties that affect their ability to function at home, in school, and in the community. 6. To help youth in conflict with the law who have mental health problems. 7. Training-to work with institutions of higher learning in the training of the next generation of mental health professionals. 8. Research-to build the knowledge base in children's mental health.
