The Shevchenko Foundation's vision statement is to "be a premier not-for-profit foundation inspiring community development in a Canada that acknowledges Ukrainian Canadians as nation-builders and a fundamental component of Canadian society". Accordingly, it allocates grants bi-annually for the preservation, promotion, and development of Ukrainian Canadian cultural heritage in four identified Programs - Arts, Community Development, Heritage, and Education. In response to an identified need to increase its capital in order to meet the growing demands for grant funding, the Shevchenko Foundation has launched its first major professionally managed capital campaign - Our Legacy Our Tomorrow, for the preservation, promotion, and development of Ukrainian Canadian cultural heritage in four identified Programs - Arts, Community Development, Heritage, and Education.
