The Foundation is committed to providing a fun-filled camp experience to children from economically disadvantaged homes. Year-round, children are selected from each of the communities in which a Tim Hortons restaurant operates, giving over 18,000 children the chance to visit one of our camps. Across Canada 1 in 6 children live in economically disadvantaged homes. For these children opportunities and surroundings which promote growth into healthy individuals are often limited. A Foundation camp experience provides programs that develop lifelong skills in children. When they return home from camp, they take with them a more positive attitude about their future and the confidence to achieve the goals they learned to set for themselves at camp. The Foundation fulfills this mission through 3 distinct programs. Our Summer Camp program provides children with a 10-day residential experience and operates during the summer months. Our Community Leaders Program operates through the non-summer months and provides children with an experience similar to our Summer Camp program, offered during two shorter duration residential experiences. Our Youth Leadership Program builds on the experience of our Summer Camp Program, providing older children to continue to build their life skills using a structured program delivered over five successive summers.
