The Vancouver Art Gallery Gallery Continues with an exhibition schedule of shacasing local BC, Canadian and International Artists. A summary of the exhibitions in fiscal 2016 include: Of Heaven and Earth: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums, Geoffrey Farmer's How do I fit this Ghost in My Mouth, Christos Dikeakos, Jerry Pethick: Shooting the Sun/Splitting the Pie, Lee Bul, Embracing Canada: Landscapes from Krieghoff to the Group of Seven, MashUp: The Birth of Modern Culture, Early 20th Century: Collage, Montage and Readymade at the Birth of Modern Culture, Barbara Kruger, and the opening of Picasso: The Artists and his Muses, Steven Waddell and Harry Callahan. Off-site exhibitions include Reena Saini Kallat and Elizabeth Zvonar. The Gallery also provided an exhibition reflecting the Conceptual Design of the New Vancouver Art Gallery. he Gallery continues to display its permanent collection and has the most significant group of paints and works on paper by modernist landscape painter Emily Carr. These exhibitions are visited by local and international visitors, the collection is also used by researchers, scholars and students as well as authors, publishers and other museums and galleries. The Gallery continues with an extensive scope of educational and public programming throughout the year.
