This year (2016) the Sunshine Coast Arts Council celebrated it's 50th Anniversary with numerous activities and receptions, including a "Thank You" Tea for volunteers, a special musical concert featuring musicians and artists past and present, a special AGM celebration inviting all local sponsors and donors, local politicians and dignitaries, all past presidents and key volunteers, and other community arts and cultural representatives. We provided a summer art camp for children and adolescents in the community, with plans to expand the program in the future. We've begun developing a permanent printmaking workshop program with the contribution of an etching printing press. We also received a one-time capital grant from the Sunshine Coast Community Forest Legacy Fund in the amount of $51,000 to do repairs and renovation to our building, now 50 years old.
