The purpose of our Branch, in partnership with the Department of Defense, is to sponsor a local sea cadet corps. We equate youth development to the delivery of objectives of the cadet program. Those objectives are to provide training and opportunities in citizenship (including familiarity with military history, practices, and traditions), community service, leadership, personal fitness, and recreational sports to all youth age 12-18. We do this through CanSall, marksmanship, cadet competitions (local, provincial, and national), band, skiing, biathlon, swimming, ropework, SCUBA diving, small craft operation (sailboat, motorboat, whitewater ratting), drill, and educational travel (local, provincial, national, and international).
