In partnership with the Department of National Defence, supervise the activities of the Army Cadet Corps in Manitoba, encourage public interest in and support of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Units by ensuring that the Army Cadet Units are formed wherever appropriate and practical and that each unit is effectively sponsored and supported within the community, and collect, receive and invest funds and property from contributions and use such funds, subject to any donor direction, for the benefit of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets. Set up and direct an educational tour program we are calling Vimy Trek 2017 wherein we will sponsor up to 100 Cadets to attend the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in April 2017. The trip will take our Cadets to London, England, the Beaches of Normandy, Beny sur Mere Cemetery, Beaumont Hamel, Vimy Ridge and Paris, France. The Cadets will be participating in commemorative ceremonies, wreath laying ceremonies and learning some of the history of our World War I and II soldiers and their sacrifices.
