The Citadel Theatre is recognized as a leader in Canadian theatre. We produce work of the highest quality, premiere new plays, develop the skills of professional artists, invest in youth and families and contribute to the quality of life in the Edmonton community. The Citadel Theatre offers 9 or more plays annually in our beautiful facility with five performance spaces. Under the umbrella of the Academy at the Citadel, the Citadel carries out a number of creative development programs: Play Development, The Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program, the Foote Theatre School, Citadel Young Companies and Audience Outreach Programs. Our Beyond the State series opens our doors to the community with events that stimulate discussion, enhance knowledge, entertain, and provide opportunities to witness and interact in the creative process.
