Services Provided by The Canadian Council Of The Blind
The Canadian Council of the Blind's ongoing mission is to promote the well-being of people who are blind or have low vision through education, profitable employment and social association. We endeavor to create closer relationships between people who are blind or have low vision and the sighted community through information, education and awareness. We collaborate with service providers and all levels of government in order to improve the current levels of service regarding accessibility and quality of life. We provide education and awareness in preventing vision loss by promoting healthy living and provide eye testing for youth and seniors through our Mobile Eye Clinic. The ongoing Get Together with Technology program continues to expand across the country, providing training and education on accessible technology and accessible features of non-specialized technology. We are supported by our members, volunteers and donors who contribute collectively over 30,000 hours of their time on an annual basis to help achieve the success of our programs and initiatives.
