The Children's Cottage Society of Calgary aims to prevent harm and neglect to all children and to build strong families through Crisis Nursery, Community Respite, Healthy Families, Brenda's House Family Shelter, Rapid Rehousing, Home Links & Emergency Placement/Outreach. All programs are provided to families and their children free of charge. The Crisis Nursery provides care for children newborn to age eight for up to 72 hours. Children are provided shelter, food, toys & clothing in a safe environment & parents receive support and referral to other community resources. Community Respite provides in-home infant support and childcare respite by assisting parents of newborn to six month old infants when there are no other supports, and also coordinates child care respite with volunteer child care centers to provide free short term care for families in transition or at risk to ensure quality care for children. Health Families offers in-home education and support to parents with children up to three years in age with a focus on parent child interaction and developmental milestones. Brenda's House Family Shelter is for families with children who are currently homeless. Rapid Rehousing, Home Links, and Emergency Placement/Outreach provides homeless families support to find and maintain housing.
