Recently we added a position to the Education department which has a mandate to enhance our education profile in BC. The new position of Education and Outreach Coordinator, with the support and guidance of our new Teacher's Advisory Committee, runs a series of theatre-based workshops available to high schools to ignite imaginations through story-telling work. With increased capacity at the BMO Theatre Centre, we are now also able to expand our arts and education programs such as our youth theatre workshops, ReACT: New Plays in Progress, LEAP: Playwriting Intensive for Teens, Teacher's Recource Guides, and our Summer Musical Theatre Intensive for Teens. Also our Digital LEAP youth playwriting course is now available across the regional areas of BC through digital streaming workshops. Through an increased focus and a new role within the company, we remain committed to actively engaging and developing Canadian youth. Going forward we plan to increase our educaiton outreach with programs in libraries, additional pre-show workshops with school groups, and further use of digital streaming to bring our initiatives to the entire province of BC.
