Studio Lab Theatre Foundation exists to exhance the production values of small Canadian theatre companies by providing funding and expertise in support of the theatre's vital work. For example we currently fund Roseneath Theatre for Young Audiences because of its first rate, culturally relevant plays presented in schools and community centres all across the Greater Toronto Area. Studio Lab provides funding for apprentices in various fields like, but not limited to, Lighting, Sound, Set and Costume Design to be placed in professional theatres so that they can get hands on experience, learn valuable new skills and network. Every summer Studio Lab offers the Studio Lab Theatre Foundation Summer Apprenticeship Program primarily in scenic art. This program has an impressive track record, kick starting the careers of many emerging young Artists who have gone on to work in Canadian theate, television and film.
