The program is designed to meet the developing and maturing needs of children as they progress from solitary play to an awareness of other children and a desire to cooperate with each other in play. Each class includes free play, art activities, songs, stories, dance and movement, a healthy snack and outside play when weather permits. Indoor play centres include dramatic play, tactile play, puzzles, art, construction toys and a library of favourite story books, Music, drama, science and cooking and nutrition activities are incorporated into the program. All play materials and activities aim to teach positive social skills, giving children the opportunity to grow, learn and develop to their full potential as they prepare to move on to full time elementary school. The parents and caregivers of the enrolled children volunteer their time to perform the day-to-day tasks of running the preschools such as hiring the teacher, paying the bills, filling various paperwork and collecting fees. Parents attend monthly meetings that are necessary to run the preschool and help organize field trips, parent education sessions, and social events. All fundraising activities for the school is are also done by the parent volunteers
