Raag-Mala Toronto’s mission is to weave the thread of Indian Classical Music (ICM) into the Canadian cultural fabric. We were formed in 1981 with a mandate to promote and preserve ICM by presenting top Indian and North America-based artists in performance. Our secondary objective is to spread the awareness and appreciation of ICM through lecture-demonstrations and a strong online presence.
Today, we are amongst the longest-serving organizations in North America that are focused on this genre, celebrating our 42nd year of uninterrupted programming in 2022.

In 2016 we continued our collaboration with the Aga Khan Museum, by holding 2 concerts at the venue, and promoting their concerts to Raag-Mala membership. In August, we held a concert at the Sringeri Temple - a new partnership for Raag-Mala. With seed funding from the Scotiabank, we have started a Youth Initiative project. Last year we held lecture-demonstrations at the Parkdale Public Library for approximately 100 middle school children and teachers, and offered substantially discounted tickets to students under 25.
