Until 2015, we operated retail outlets within the PEI National Park and at Province House National Historic Site to provide visitors with the opportunity to purchase educational and cultural items. Funds raised were reinvested in the historic sites, used to help pay for events we organized to promote the Park and the historic sites, or donated to PEI National Park. We organized special events within PEI National Park, at Province House NationalHistoric Site, and at Fort Amherst National Site to raise awareness of, to encourage use of, to encourage stewardship of, and to encourage visitation to the Park and the historic sites. Membership declined over the years to the point where the only members of the Association are the directors. At the end of 2014, the retail outlets were closed, because of the closure of Province House of major structural repairs and other changes at the Park. In 2015, we sold the inventory and fixed assets of our retail outlets, and donated our collection of Victorian era costumes. The Association is in the process of winding up and determining how best to use our remaining funds for charitable purposes.
