The goal of Pacific Immigrant Resources Society is to ensure that immigrant women and children can participate fully in Canadian community life. To this end we provide neighbourhood based group programs for immigrant women and their children including:-ESL (English as a second Language) programs - Leadership training and support programs (LEAD and Building Bridges) - Settlement Program: Moving Ahead; client centered initiative which applies "Wraparound" approach. - Volunteer opportunities training & support (volunteer program) - ESL Family Literacy Programs (story Time) for immigrant women with children aged 3 to 5 years old. Children's Programs for the young children of women participating in ESL and LEAD programs. HIPPY Program: isan evidenced based program that works with families in the home to support parents, primarily mother, in their critical role as their child's first and most important teacher. for 3-5 years old.
