Niagara Regional Literacy Council, founded in 1978, is a community-based, not-for-profit, organization dedicated to increasing literacy. Our trained volunteer tutors assist adults with reading, writing, numeracy, workplace, computer and life skills. Mission: to assist adults in achieving a more productive and satisfying lifestyle through literacy upgrading. The Council offers free instruction in employment computer upgrading, including assisted job search and resume writing. Instruction in Pre-G.E.D; Ready for Work programs such as office clerk, grounds maintenance, kitchen help, janitorial help; WHMIS and general upgrading to exam level. One-on-one and small group instruction is available in literacy and computer. Basic financial literacy.
