The Mustard Seed is a Christian charity that has been serving Alberta and has become a haven for people in desperate need. In Calgary, the charity offers an expansive range of innovative programs and service, including education and employment, health and wellness services, basic needs through an emergency shelter for 370 men and women, spiritual care and housing. In Edmonton, The Mustard Seed offers no-cost meals to as many as 350 men, women and children six nights a week, and provides free clothing, small appliances and hygiene items to thousands of community members, who are able to shop with dignity in a store environment. Recently merging with The Neighbor Centre in Edmonton, The Mustard Seed has expanded its services to a greater population. The overall goal of the ministry is to meet people where they are and to help them move out of homelessness to a place of independence and strength.
