Boost CYAC is offering a pilot project to increase access to justice for young victims (16 years and under) of human sex trafficking in Toronto. Thispilot is being developed in collaboration with the Human Trafficking Enforcement Team of Toronto Police Services, Justice for Children & Youth, as well as other relevant organizations. we intend to develop a best-practice model that can be adopted by child and youth advocacy centres across Canada. Boost is partnering with Nishnawbe Aski Nation, to develop a culturally competent adaptation of our prevention programs that will include prevention messages and materials, training for teachers and resources for parents and communities. Boost prevention educators will travel to Thunder Bay and other Nishnawbe Aski Nation communities, including fly-in reserves, to work closely with youth workers and educators to develop activities and ensure that they are meaningful and effective. Once complete, the materials and activities and activities will be available as online resources for other First Nations communities to use.
