Camrose Women's Shelter Society operates a 25 bed emergency shelter which provides a safe, supportive place for women and children who are escaping domestic violence, are in a crisis situation or are homeless. Approximately 400 women and children are served annually. Services include provision of basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, health supports), counseling, life skills support, transportation, children's programs, childcare, referral to community resources, operation of a 24 hour crisis phone line, and an outreach program in support of families transitioning to the community towards a safer lifestyle and self-sufficient living.
