Annual Fair-A four day agricultural exhibition that includes competitions in various agriculturally related field, for which prizes are awarded. Also to provide an education experience for urban residents about their agricultural community as well as provide the community with a family oriented event with many activities. Run mainly by volunteers-requires close to 2 weeks of intense on site work, as well as months of planning. Committees meet at least once a month for 5 months pre fair planning. The Society has +/- 150 volunteers helping with this event. Scholarship Program-We offer post secondary scholarships to 4-H members in our distfict. The program is administered by a volunteer committee-4 persons-requires meeting to review the program, advertise, review all applications, interview applicants, choose recipients, present scholarships-done once per year. Plant excess acreage to crops donated to Canadian Foodgrains Bank. All seed, equipment use and labour is donated by farmers of the surrounding community.
