For the past 90 years, the Kelowna Kiwanis Festival has been putting on an amateur music festival in the Okanagan Valley "to provide an opportunity for young and amateur performing artists to demonstrate their achievements in music, dance, and speech to their peers and community and have have their performances professionally evaluated in a constructive and positive manner." This year saw over 2500 individuals "amateur performers" in 27 days of festival performances and over 1000 hours of volunteer time.
