Services Provided by NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR SCIENCE FAIRS COUNCIL INC.
1) To encourage students to develop interests in areas of Science and technology, both outside and within school curricula, by the design and construction of experiments and displays and the communication of ideas to other students and the general public. 2) To foster the ideas that scientific inquiry is an integral part of human's search for knowledge and that the approach to a problem requires a study of what human kind has already achieved before a well-planed investigation is undertaken. 3) To place students in a learning situation where they will plan, organize, and develop a scientific project and the place then in an instructive position where they will be able to communicate and interpret the information they have collected. 4) To encourage the holding of annual School Science Fairs. 5) To organize and hold and annual Regional Science Fair in which students will be able to demonstrate their projects and to interact with students from other schools. 6)To select students to represent the Region at the annual Canada-Wide Science Fair.
