With financial support from Canadian Heritage's Canada Cultural Spaces Fund and the City of Toronto's Culture Build Investment Program, Craft Ontario moved it's two separate locations (Shop in Yorkville and Gallery/Offices at 990 Queen St W) to a new facility at 1106 Queen St W, Toronto, which opened in October of 2016. During the move, and with this new space, all ongoing programs continued to run, in addition to launching the Craft Education Centre, a new 500 sq ft space that hosts the organization's lecture and workshop programming,while at the same time providing access to members for space to run their own independent mini exhibitions, workshops and trunk shows. The mandate of this new space is to support the professional and networking opportunities for the craft community through a range of Craft Ontario and member-led presentations and events, and to use digital technologies in order to share program information and experiences of throughout the province.
