The SCA acquires preserves and makes accessible the documentary and cultural heritage of Simcoe County, including all original records of the various branches of the County, its constituent municipalities and the City of Barrie, and also documents bearing on all aspects of the County's history and agricultural, industrial, commercial or financial development, as well as its pioneer and settlement experiences. Preservation and accessibility includes such programmes as cataloguing, maintaining environmental integrity and physical security,duplication and digitization, education, micrographic reproduction, and internet access.
